GUIDANCE & COUNSELING DEPARTMENT OF WOTE TTI

Introduction 

The Guidance & Counseling Department of Wote TTI is committed to offer  Psycho-Social support to Wote TTI fraternity, endeavoring to meet  the holistic needs of the trainees, trainers, support staff and our stakeholders. The department streamlines HIV/AIDS prevention & Management for a zero new infection in the community, as well as Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Management, for a reduced ADA prevalence and  support to people with Substance Use Disorders(SUDS) among Staff and trainees. It also operates the Employee Assistance Programme in conjunction with the management for referrals and treatment of its affected staff in partnership with the Makueni County Referral Hospital.

We help create a conducive learning and working environment for our fraternity, by offering  guidance & counseling services  with emphasis on Stress Management and Mental health among others.

To provide opportunities for intellectual, psychological, personal and spiritual needs of the staff and students

Core functions
The following services are provided to wote T.T.I community by the guidance and counseling office

  • Counseling services to individual students and staff
  • HIV/AIDS attitude training to students and non- teaching staff
  • Welfare and outreach activities on HIV/AIDS prevention.
  • Organize and carry out training on counseling skills for both staff and students
  • Guidance and counseling services in addressing management of stress and burn-out
  • Group counseling sessions held in addressing alcohol / drug related issues
  • The Guidance and counseling office at all times observes the guiding principles in counseling.
